warmed up when the bottom fell out and a huge lightning and thunderstorm showed up. The guys and I were not one’s to back down from a challenge, so were back fishing as soon as the storm passed. Heading to Tommy’s next spot, we took one look at the bottom machine and we knew it was time to break out the pinfish; the spot was loaded with Gag’s. Within minutes, we had Gag’s flying over the rail, almost all of them keep- ers, well over 24 inches. After that stop,
it was time to break out the Jameson and cigars; we had caught some of the biggest fish of the day. David landed a 9 lb. Man- grove Snapper, Matt and Jeremy both land- ed 14lb. Gags and Brian landed a 12lb. Gag Grouper right as the sea’s started to swell to 6-foot rollers.
Capt. Tommy checked the box and said, “before heading back we are hitting one more spot so we can limit out on American Red Snapper”, I thought how can you be so sure? Well I stand corrected, low and be- hold we hit that spot and caught our limit on ARS almost like it was “on demand”. Jeff and Zach were in the port back corner of the boat just landing huge ARS like it was going out of style and Capt. Schuyler the mate somehow kept up with it all. On the way back in, we all could not stop talking about the “epic day of fishing” we just expe- rienced! Thanks to Capt. Tommy LaRonge, Master of the Middle Grounds and Capt. Schuyler Stephens of Reels Feels Fishing.
